Clearwire unconcerned by rumoured China Mobile TD-LTE licensing issues

US WiMAX-turned-Long Term Evolution (LTE) operator Clearwire has confirmed that its plans to deploy a Time Division LTE (TD-LTE) network are still on track, despite the emergence of Chinese media reports suggesting that Beijing will delay the issuance of TD-LTE licences there for up to three years; Miao Wei, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, made the comments during an interview with a local, state-owned TV station late last week. Clearwire spokeswoman Susan Johnston told FierceWireless: ‘Clearwire continues to move forward with our LTE network plans and to participate in our cooperative arrangement with China Mobile
