B-Mobile, the wholly owned wireless subsidiary of fixed line incumbent Bhutan Telecom, plans to expand its 3G network to around 40 locations in western and central Bhutan by the end of the year. Local daily Kuensel Online reports that B-Mobile’s third-generation network is currently limited to core parts of Thimphu, but work will begin next month to expand coverage to other areas of the capital, as well as Phuentsholing, Paro and Gelephu
