Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) start-up Pond Mobile has confirmed that it has launched services in Russia, complementing its existing operation in the United States. The company, which is targeting businesspeople travelling between the US and Russia, piggybacks on the networks of Sprint Nextel and Vimpelcom depending on which country the user is in. The MVNO, the brainchild of former Russian telecoms executive Aleksander Molozanov, commenced operations in the US in December 2011.
