Megacom to expand 3.5G coverage nationwide

Kyrgyz mobile operator Megacom plans to roll out its 3.5G wireless network to the entire country by the end of 2012, the company has said in a press release on its website. At present, 3.5G services are available in the cities of Bishkek, Kant and Tokmok, as well as a number of smaller towns and cities. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database states that Megacom launched commercial 3.5G services, including videocalling, mobile TV and high speed mobile broadband at download speeds of up to 14.4Mbps, in January 2012.
