Argentine mobile operator Claro has been ordered to pay a total of ARS9.2 million (USD2.05 million) to its subscribers following an outage on the America Movil-owned company’s network in parts of Buenos Aires last month. Bloomberg cites an e-mailed statement from the country’s Planning Ministry as saying that Claro has also been fined an additional ARS586,000 for the outage. As reported by CommsUpdate, last month Spanish telecoms company Telefonica was ordered to pay a fine of around ARS185 million after an outage on its wireless network left its subscribers without service for several hours in April.
