Cofetel finalises draft mobile interconnection proposals

Mexico’s Comision Federal de Telecomunicaciones (Cofetel) has reportedly approved a draft plan on new regulations for mobile interconnection rates, BNamericas reports. It is understood that the proposals will now be sent to Comision Federal de Mejora Regulatoria (Cofemer), the federal regulatory improvement commission for comments. As previously reported by CommsUpdate, in April 2012 the regulator revealed that it was planning to launch a public consultation regarding the proposed cost model for defining fixed and mobile interconnection rates.
