SKT hits three million LTE subs as KT passes the million mark

SK Telecom (SKT), South Korea’s largest mobile network operator by subscribers, has announced that its Long Term Evolution (LTE) subscriber base has now exceeded three million, with the cellco having reportedly passed the milestone earlier this month. Meanwhile, according to the Korea Herald, rival KT Corp has said that its own LTE customer numbers have surpassed one million, after launching the service just five months ago; the cellco has claimed that the speed at which it reached the one million mark is the shortest of any LTE provider worldwide.
