UKE mulls MTR drop

The president of Polish regulator the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE), Magdalena Gaj advocates the implementation of a symmetric mobile termination rate (MTR) of PLN0.04 (USD0.012) per minute, despite claims that the reduction could result in loss of revenues to Polish operators totalling between PLN1.5 billion and PLN2 billion in 2013, reports Rpkom. Gaj said that the rate was reasonable, but the regulator may need to introduce an intermediate rate in the interim, to alleviate pressure on cellcos’ finances.
