AIS starting LTE test at end of month

Thailand’s mobile market leader Advanced Info Service (AIS) will begin testing its fourth-generation (4G) mobile broadband network based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology in partnership with state-owned operators TOT and CAT Telecom on 31 January ‘or early February at the latest’, the Bangkok Post reports, quoting AIS’s CEO, Wichian Mektrakarn. The executive said the company will conduct a non-commercial LTE trial with TOT using 2.3GHz band frequencies and 84 cell sites in Bangkok and other key provinces
