Korean smartphone users favour internet and apps over calls and texts

According to a survey conducted by the Korea Communications Commission and the Korea Internet and Security Agency, 42.4% of respondents said that the internet and mobile apps were the main purpose of their smartphone. Voice calling was the priority for 39.3% of users, while text messaging was the main use for 18.3%. On average the 4,000 respondents aged 12-59 spent one hour and 27 minutes per day surfing the web on portable devices
