SingTel Optus, Australia’s second largest mobile network operator in terms of subscribers, has announced that it is to acquire local wireless broadband operator Vividwireless from current owner Seven Group. According to Delimiter, Optus will pay AUD230 million (USD246 million) for Vividwireless, with the former claiming that the move – which will give it access to up to 98MHz of frequencies in the 2.3GHz band – will allow it to roll out a new 4G mobile broadband network
