Uruguay’s telecoms regulator, Unidad Reguladora de Servicios de Comunicaciones (URSEC), has published its 2011 report on the country’s telecoms market, which states that the number of mobile subscribers rose 7.2% year-on-year to reach 4.757 million as at 31 December 2011. Of that total, pre-paid subscribers accounted for the majority (3.337 million), while the number of post-paid customers stood at 1.419 million, up from 1.215 million twelve months earlier
